Clan-Witch Interviews: Carl England

With Author of ‘Alphabet Soup,’ Carl England

Welcome to the Clan-Witch Interviews. Today we are with Author, Carl England!

The follow up to Alphabet Soup is with his Publisher at the moment, so if you haven’t read the that yet, here is the Synopsis to check Carls work out before his next release;

Our government is populated with a myriad of agencies referred to only by their initials. Within each of these “Alphabet” agencies are countless other agencies, each of them adding to the “Soup.”

Three members of an elite, secret team have stumbled upon a mystery. What actually happened while they were on a temporary assignment in Biloxi, Mississippi? Holly remembers the trip to Biloxi one way, but Mark remembers the events entirely differently. And Larry—well Larry can’t even remember being there.

There is only one possible explanation—someone has tampered with and/or erased their memories. What could have happened in Biloxi that was so terrible that such extreme measures would be necessary?

The clues: Before Larry’s memories were erased, he sent emails to himself, Holly and Mark. Each of the emails contained links to encrypted files. Once those files were decrypted, they would form a puzzle that only the three of them can piece together.

But there is at least one person who is willing to do anything to prevent that puzzle from being assembled. Holly, Mark, and Larry race against the clock just to stay alive while attempting to solve the mystery.

Interview

Q1. What was your inspiration and drive behind your latest book?

My time in the military was spent as a member of one of the “Alphabet Agencies.”  Bits and pieces of unclassified tales and a lot of personal imagination went into writing “Alphabet Soup.'”

Q2. What is your writing kryptonite?

My “real” job can sometimes be exhausting.  Many evenings I will be too tired to write.

Q3. If you could tell your younger self anything, what would it be?

Complete something!  Don’t make a dozen starts (and another dozen ideas) just sit around.  Make a start and see it through to the end.

Q4. Tell us about an early experience where you learned that words have power.

I realized the power of words when I listened to the speeches of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr.

Q5. What does success look like to you?

I would love to see lots of sales knowing that people were enjoying my fiction.  A movie deal would be nice.

Q6. Tell us what we should look out for from you in the future.

I have written a sequel to “Alphabet Soup.”  “Code Breaker” is currently awaiting my publisher’s approval (fingers crossed.)
